Connecting The Dots Springfield Tennesse

Just Boarded the plane Heading to meet my Cousin Shelby Chatman in Nashville. We're Going to  Robertson Co Tn.  to see what! and who? we can find.

                                                       Headed to Springfield

The Next morning Going into the Archives

                                                            The sign in Book!

The Big Books! lol😊

Cousin Shelby digging deep into the Census

Then I found this 1900 Census book

which had my Carson Family listed with the last name spelled Cassan. Which is why I was unable to find them online anywhere!  I wish I had a picture of me bout jumping up out that chair. Talk about a Happy Omg moment! because at this point I had only found Johnson Carson in the,1880 Census Living in Cannon Co Tn with his new Wife Mary Biles and Her Family they were married in the spring of 1879.
where were they? in all those years in between. 30 years is a big gap! Driving me Crazy! And I had to find out!

And now I've found them listed here in Springfield Tennessee with 4 children  Arthur, Minnie and Twin Boys Johnsie and Johnson. however, they had, Had a daughter named Elizabeth born in 1879 never to be mentioned again. I heard she went Passing and worked as a Teacher but no known facts I'm still searching for Elizabeth. She would've been around 23 years old or so at this point! She could've gotten married
They left Cannon co and settled in Robertson Co Springfield Tn.

So Now we're headed to Fairview Cemetery

Irene And Arthur are in  Fairview!

Passed A Smoke House! They are drying out the Tabacco leaves

 I had to Get one!
Photos of Fairview Church and Cemetery from Sky view
before 1900 the left side of the church

after 1900 the right side of the church
Look how close the state line is from the church Right down the street!

Irene was a young mother of two and was eight years into her marriage with Mr. Edwards only 40 years old that breaks my heart! We mustn't forget Irene Carson Edwards.

Arthur died at age 74 He was widowed and never remarried and he lived a life of a Farmer and when he departed this earth he left his land to his children.  August 1st, 1956

this was the hospital from 1934 until 1956 They told us that We were actually standing in what used to be the Jail and then the hospital it is now the Robertson County Archives Building.

Letter From Cousin Earl Carson Dec 27th, 1957

Cousin Fred Carson (Grandson) of Johnsie Carson shared this Letter with us! Thank you, Fred, we Learned a lot about our family from this letter!

Arthur Carson letter to family pg2.JPG

So reading this Letter proves that Earl indeed did have Family A Wife name Mayme and some children. He said that Mayme's sister gave the children a Typewriter for Christmas! He talks about killing two young hogs and getting two stands of Lard for they were small hogs at this time of year probably due to it being winter and not a lot of grass in the pasture. Mayme is dealing with asthma today but is up and about milking cows, they have about 11 heads and are selling whole milk!. and she says Hello to You-all. When his father died in 1956 at the age of 74.  he was left with 62.8 acres of land he gave sister Irene's half  46.5 acres to her son Richard he sold his half for a 51 Ford! ( The Ground-keeper at the Cemetery even mentioned this story about him trading his half for the 51 ford! He wanted no parts of farming. Lol it happens

Cousin Shelby reading headstones
When we got out to the Fairview Cemetery the church members were having a Fun day for the children and a lady come and asked us who we were looking for and we told her some Names Carson, Chatman, Hollands. she said Oh Yes I know who you need to talk to! the groundskeeper is here and he's been taking care of the cemetery for years. Great! So, Mr. Stanley Frazier comes out and tells us his family was one of the churches, first family! And he walks around the grounds with us pointing out family members and giving oral history! One thing that he said Blew my Mind when he said Oh the Carson Farm is right up that hill! WHAT The Carson Farm!. Oh you know we have got to go see this! He also said that there was still some of the family living over there! but no one was home at the time! However, I did make telephone contact with them! That telephone conversation was quite interesting! I don't even know how to describe it! She was very nice and happy to learn of her family out in Oklahoma! I need to call her! Lol

Mr. Frazier! Gave me a Real Corn on the Cobb!

Back to Business!

My 3rd Great Uncle Arthur Carson was born 1882  He Married Mary Ella Holland in 1903 and they  had Two children  Earl Carson Born in Tennessee 1907
Irene was Born in Oklahoma Dec 28th, 1910 I've always assumed that maybe Arthur and Ella were Visiting the family in Oklahoma for Christmas when she went into labor with Irene because they didn't live in Oklahoma at the time, and they went back home to Tennessee.
Irene and her first husband Fort Chatman of Springfield Tn. Had Two children Richard and Birdella Chatman.
Irene later remarried to a Mr.Chas Thomas Edwards for eight years before she passed at the young age of 40. She died on the operating table while having a surgical procedure done! This doctor was known for giving too much Ether to the patients. We did not find a headstone for Irene!

Richard Son of Irene and Fort Chatman
Birdella Chatman Wall 1928- 2008   Birdella was named after her Grandmother Fort Chatman's mother was also Birdella Chatman born 1886
Birdella and her family moved to Louisville Ky
she had four children.
