Don't Ever get tired of doing the right thing

When she walked into the Hotel Lobby with her walker chair! and little assistance, I remember looking at her and thinking Hmm I bet she has a story to tell! as she's passing by I speak, She smiles and speaks and goes over to look for a snack in our Market! and for some reason I felt drawn to her I had no idea who she was at the time! but something about her caught my attention! She was with the production team that was staying at our Hotel for a few days here in Tulsa, Oklahoma filming a virtual movie on the 1920 Tulsa Race Riot. and I just figured that maybe she was a child of someone from the Greenwood area. Well, I didn't see her again until the next morning for breakfast she comes down and she was very independent she didn't need much help with anything! I and my personality just wanted to help! I didn't want her to burn herself trying to hold on to the coffee cup and push the walker! she said I got it! I said Yes Ma'am. Lol,  and I just smiled. and went on about my duties at the front desk! then they left and I saw them on the Morning news talking about the Tulsa Race Riot Project that she was here working on! She said that she had heard about the Tulsa Race Riot as a young girl from her parents and aunts and uncles she said that back in those days they taught a lot at home, this was before the integration of the schools. So once she became a teacher she taught her 8th grade American History class all about the Burning of Black Wall Street. So she said this was an honor to be invited to work on this project! on this subject! Because she hadn't gotten a chance to act in anything like this on the subject of History in her acting career. so she was very excited and thankful.

WHAT ARE YOU KIDDING ME! That's BIG MAMA! From 1997 Movie Soul Food! OMG!!!! So  I told my co-workers who she was and they were all like Oh Wow that's awesome! So Now I'm Super excited and nervous because when she comes back I wanted to ask for a picture. They returned shortly after and she came to the front desk to get a few snacks and I look over to my GM like we're not going to charge her for the M & M's are we, Lol and she say's No! and while they were talking I went to get my phone for a picture and she stayed and talked to us briefly about a time many years ago she worked in Tulsa, Oklahoma when she was an intern, she Laughs and goes to her room for a while.
Thank God she comes back down and went to sit out front with her Bible and I took her a cold bottle of water and asked her if I could take another picture with her since she was sitting down. and I sat down and we began to talk she talked about how she got discovered and how after her first reading for the then actor/ director Raymond St. Jacques hired her as an intern publicist for Book of numbers. St Jacques saw her performing at a poetry reading. He liked her so much that he offered her a role in his film, on the spot! She says it took her 13 takes to get it and after that, she vowed never to take more than 3 takes she said time is money and she didn't want to waste their money, she said! Now They may take it more than once but it won't be because of me! she say's. she made a reputation for herself, as a one-take actress! Wow  Omg, I can not believe I'm sitting here with this legendary award-winning famous African American actress! sitting and talking and laughing as if we've known each other for some time! It's really blowing my mind because to some" it may not be much but for me, it touched my soul! She reminded me of My Great Aunt Honey and Great Aunt Earlene. They were actually born around the same time born in the late 30's. Mrs. Irma began her career as a teacher she didn't start acting until her mid-thirties.  in this short video, she will briefly talk about how she got discovered! as an actress

Excuse the nervous energy and giggling I couldn't believe what was happening and I wasn't sure if I should record it or not!  but after she posed for the camera a few times I figured it was okay with her!

Amazing Right! Lol

She was so down to Earth and straightforward and Honest! Such an Inspiration and its like she said                                                                                I'm just being Me!
She's spitting some knowledge and I'm observing it all!

Honor Thy parents and you'll live a long life! That's why I'm 83 She say's Thank you, Jesus.

Then she goes on with some words of Encouragement to our younger generation Don't ever get tired of doing the right thing!

The Whole Armor of God Ephesians  CHAPTER 6,12
For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world the ruler, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age. So put on God's armor now! Then when the evil day comes, you will be able to resist the end, You will still hold your ground. So stand ready, with the truth as a belt around your waist, with righteousness as your breastplate, and as your shoes the readiness to announce the Good News of peace. At all times carry faith as a shield; for with it, you will be able to put out all the burning arrows shot by the Evil One. And accept salvation as a helmet and the word of God as the sword which the Spirit gives you. Do all this in prayer, asking for God's help. Pray on every occasion, as the Spirit leads. For this reason, keep alert and never give up; pray always for all God's people. And pray also for me, that God will give me a message when I am ready to speak, so that I may speak boldly and make known the gospel's secret........

it was an Honor and a Blessing for me to have met Irma P Hall. The day after my Birthday! 2018 I just Love her to Death! Words of the Wise"
